Meet Our Recipients . . .
HIAS’ scholarship award recipients come from all across the world, seeking safety and a better life in their new homelands. These scholarships enable immigrants to achieve their goals by pursuing higher education and careers that would have been out of reach in their countries of birth.
Since 1983, HIAS has helped nearly 1500 recipients of all ages, studing in nearly every field imaginable. Of these students, 36 were from Azerbaijan, 20 from Georgia, 59 from Moldova, 114 from Belarus, 175 from Iran, and more than 400 from each Russia and the Ukraine.
