Saman Setareh-Shenas, of Los Angeles, California immigrated to the United States from Tehran, Iran in 1998 and is currently an honor role student at UCLA. He received The Nathan and Carol Teitel Scholarship Endowment Award in 2008.
In his own words: “I am a person who believes strongly that we all have a responsibility to contribute to the betterment of society and the world. While some people are inclined to take action on an individual level, it was my intention to seek out existing organizations with established networks. Within these networks, I hope to establish myself as a leader and have a real impact on social and health problems.”
